About
Charlotte Phipps DfSFH, HPD
Clinical Hypnotherapist
My therapy journey began 4 years ago when I was looking for a new challenge and focus.
I’ve always had a real interest in psychology and even studied Psychology at college, but in my 20s the pull and excitement of the business world was too great, and I went on to pursue a career in sales.
But by the time I reached my early 40s, I was ready to do something different, and I realised my interest in psychology was still very much there.
Why this type of therapy
I began to explore all sorts of therapy areas, which led me to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I spent time shadowing a solution focused therapist, and I was hooked! I loved how forward-focused it was - looking at where you want to go, not where you’ve been. And I noticed how happy and relaxed people were when they left a session.

I was also intrigued by how quick it was. As a busy working mum, I saw how beneficial it could be for time-strapped parents, who might not otherwise be able to fit therapy into their lives.
Big rewards
So, I took the plunge and completed my training. And I haven’t looked back. It’s immensely rewarding to help someone move from a place of sadness or worry to a place of happiness and positivity. I like to think of Solution Focused Therapy as one very big hug!
Shared experiences
As a mother to three children and two stepchildren, I’ve experienced many of the challenges people face throughout life, including parenthood, teenage angst and the pressures of a working parent. I’ve also seen the impact these challenges can have on our mental health and wellbeing – whether experienced by myself or by friends.

Although this doesn’t change my daily working practices, it has allowed me huge empathy with children, teenagers and parents alike.
Not all about work
But life’s all about balance! When I’m not seeing clients in my Hertfordshire hypnotherapy clinic or via Zoom, you’ll find me out walking with my retired racing greyhound or feeding friends and family at my countryside home.
My Qualifications:
I'm a fully qualified and insured Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I took my training with CPHT in St Albans, Herts. I am a member of the regulatory bodies NCH and AFSFH and abide by their codes of Ethics and Conduct.

I am committed to keeping abreast of developments in my field and updating my methods to incorporate new understandings of what really works in a clinical setting.

In 2019 I decided to quit drinking, after realising the negative impact it was beginning to have on my enjoyment of life. I trained as a Sober Coach and now help others to reframe their relationship with alcohol and experience the sense of freedom it brings.
